Bio

Hi there! Small town mountain gal here! Rural small town mountain gal at that. Spent my entire childhood living in one place having a modest upbringing and going on one family vacay a year to the same place…year after year. Fast forward to high school and a wild opportunity presented itself to me – travel to Italy. I figured out the funds, and off I went on the trip of a lifetime with a bunch of other sponsored teenagers. That nine day trip venturing around Italy opened my eyes more than I could ever imagine. Even though I married my hometown crush, we jumped at the opportunity to plant permanent roots in another country. International travel became a thirsty hobby. One we could not get enough of. So, with a 16 month old in tow and 2 months away from bringing baby brother Earth-side, we said YES to the craziest idea yet. During the past 4.5 years, we have lived in Asia and now reside in Europe. Our sons are 4.5 and 6 years old. They have tasted the air and felt the Earth of almost 30 countries in their short lives; while hubby and I have experienced over 50. Expat life is beyond challenging and simultaneously rewarding. I want to share our experiences with the public…hoping one of our stories will encourage others in the trenches. Living abroad with a family while navigating various cultures and language barriers is mind-boggling to most. We are not a military family, diplomats, nor missionaries, but I do feel like there is a fire in me to be the light. To serve as the hands and feet of Jesus in other parts of the world. So, here I am. Ready to dig in! I’ve recently dabbled in blogging but would love to put our stories in a fluid book. I was recently asked to script out an article for a column back home detailing family expat life. Upon publication, the fire and passion behind telling more and more has exponentially grown. I feel this is exactly where God needs me to be. Check it out here if you are interested: https://www.smokymountainnews.com/rumble/item/29864-family-life-abroad
