My struggle to find an image of just myself for my profile picture speaks to my life. I am a wife and mother of three wonderful kiddos. After college and grad school, I went off the ambitious track and chose to be a stay-at-home mom for a decade. Once my children were all in school, I chose to address the teacher shortage in my state (Oklahoma) by joining the fray. I turned my BA in English and MA in Technical Communication into a position teaching 8th grade English. I spend 20 hours a week teaching grammar and writing, 10-20 hours a week planning and grading grammar and writing (most 8th graders have a long way to go…), and the rest of the my time with my family.
I have felt called to write a book to Christian women about grace and the law and how that looks in our lives and relationships with each other. My daughter (a gifted artist) also wants to illustrate a children’s book, so she wants me to write one. I’m open to ideas.
I am committing to finally carve out time for my writing. I have made excuses for years, and I am ready to overcome them and fulfill my goals.
